Organize A Fundraising Event

THIRD PARTY FUNDRAISING EVENTS
A Third-Party Fundraising event is a fundraising activity (beyond sharing the NFSB donation link) being run or hosted by a group or individual, where the NFSB has no fiduciary responsibilities and little or no staff involvement.

ORGANIZING A FUNDRAISING EVENT
Nutley Family Service Bureau, Inc. (NFSB) is extremely grateful to the people and organizations that wish to organize events to support our mission to strengthen the emotional and social well-being of individuals and families through affordable mental health counseling and social service programs.

THIRD PARTY FUNDRAISING REGISTRATION FORM

To help ensure the success of your event, we have developed the following Third-Party Fundraising Event Guidelines. NOTE: that the more lead-time that is given for the event, the better we can support the effort. 6 weeks prior is optimal.

We encourage questions regarding fundraising events. Please contact our Executive Director, Katherine Carmichael at 973-542-8276 Ext. 200 or kcarmichael@nutleyfamily.org. Thank you for your interest in making Nutley Family Service Bureau the beneficiary of your fundraising efforts!

THIRD PARTY FUNDRAISING EVENT GUIDELINES

  1. Third party fundraising events must be approved by NFSB, prior to the event.
  2. Any use of the NFSB name or logo must be approved by NFSB prior to the event. In addition, materials, including but not limited to press releases, public service announcements, electronic marketing, posters, brochures, flyers, and tickets must be approved by NFSB prior to distribution.
  3. NFSB has made a commitment to our donors, volunteers, and staff that we do not sell or provide others with access to our mailing lists. Furthermore, NFSB strictly prohibits telephone solicitation by third parties.
  4. Approved Third Party fundraising events must be referred to as “benefiting NFSB.” They may not be represented as “sponsored by”, “conducted on behalf”, or any similar terminology.
  5. NFSB should be informed of any potential sponsors that may be targeted for the event before they are approached, to minimize overlap with other NFSB fundraising efforts.
  6. Our acceptance of your application creates no exclusive rights to serve as NFSB sole fundraiser.
  7. NFSB is not responsible for any expenses incurred in relation to this fundraiser.
  8. Third Party fundraiser agrees to obey all federal, state, and local laws and regulations in promoting and conducting their event. Event organizers must obtain their own liability insurance to cover the event.

    a) A letter of authorization to validate the authenticity of the fundraising event.
    b) Notification of the event on NFSB’s social media platforms and website.
