• The Anna Felice Band Set to Debut at Rock Hunger VIII

From the moment Anna Felice was asked to perform Somewhere Over the Rainbow in her preschool show, she knew that she wanted to be a recording artist.

“I think I was a natural spotlight seeker,” Anna recalls with a laugh. “I loved everything about performing – singing, acting, dressing up, being on stage. I was always in school plays and musicals right through high school, and I’ve been taking professional voice classes since I was 12.”

On June 7, Anna’s singing career will hit another milestone as The Anna Felice Band makes its debut at Rock Hunger VIII at the Old Canal Inn, 2 East Passaic Avenue in Nutley. Rock Hunger VIII is a concert to benefit Nutley Family Service Bureau (NFSB) programs, including the Food Pantry, which provides food to about 300 households every month. Tickets are just $25.

Anna has performed in duos and trios, but Rock Hunger will mark the first time her new band takes the stage together, with two guitarists, a bassist, keyboardist, drummer, and Anna on lead vocals. The audience can expect to hear an unpredictable, fun mix of songs they know and love.

“I call our setlist Billboard hits across the decades,” Anna said. “There’s not one musical genre, style, or era that captures the music we perform. We just love to play songs that put smiles on people’s faces and get them dancing.”

In addition to The Anna Felice Band, Rock Hunger will be headlined by the Porch Rockers and feature performances by the Sticky Wickets and Project Blue Book. Attendees will also be able to participate in a tricky tray auction and 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds benefiting the Food Pantry and other important NFSB programs.

After Rock Hunger VIII, The Anna Felice Band will return to NFSB on July 9 to perform in the new Rock Hunger Summer Concert Series, presented by the Community Advisory Board. All five summer concerts will be held at 169 Chestnut Street between NFSB and the Nutley Masonic Lodge.

With a soprano one voice, Anna received vocal training at Hobart and William Smith College and LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Her style infuses her classical music training with a modern pop technique to create a truly unique sound, which will be on full display at Rock Hunger VIII.

After moving to Nutley in 2022, Anna became a regular customer at the NFSB Thrift Shop. She not only believes in recycling and upcycling, but as a performer, she enjoys finding distinctive fashions that you don’t see every day. She started volunteering at the Thrift Shop earlier this year, which gave her an up-close look at the many ways NFSB supports the community.

“My mother is a licensed therapist and social worker,” Anna said. “I grew up around mental health education and have always been an advocate of improving mental health. Obviously, I love the fact that NFSB has its own Food Pantry and feeds hundreds of families every month. It’s very fulfilling to be involved with an organization like NFSB, and I can’t wait for our band to debut at Rock Hunger!”
